SpaceX set to launch broadcast satellite Monday night

SpaceX is preparing for yet another nighttime spectacle over Florida as it gears up to launch a Falcon 9 rocket carrying the EchoStar XXV broadcast satellite for DISH. Slated for liftoff no earlier than 11:15 p.m. on Monday, March 9, this mission will take place at Launch Complex 40 within the Cape Canaveral Space Force Station.

Starlink

Unlike many of SpaceX’s recent launches focused on deploying Starlink satellites, this mission marks a slight shift as it delivers a broadcast satellite for DISH. The launch window extends until 1:49 a.m., providing additional flexibility if delays occur.

Planned flight path and landing

Once the Falcon 9 rocket takes off, it will follow an eastern trajectory. While similar missions often create sonic booms over nearby Brevard County, that won’t be the case for this launch. Instead, the rocket's booster is scheduled to land roughly eight and a half minutes after liftoff on the drone ship named A Shortfall of Gravitas, stationed in the Atlantic Ocean.

Live updates available

For those keen to follow the action as it happens, updates will begin 90 minutes before liftoff.

As SpaceX continues its busy schedule of launches, this mission provides yet another opportunity to witness the company’s advanced technology in action while supporting the growing needs of satellite communications.

"Thank you for joining us", the article noted as preparations for coverage continue.
